So when I suggested to her that perhaps she needed to learn how to give love and to love unselfishly for the benefit and happiness of another; after years of searching, this struck her as an entirely new thought that had never occurred to her before! She went out soon and found what she was looking for all the time by trying to find someone whom she could make happy by giving her love to them.

The laws of the spirit, however, never fail! They may temporarily satisfy the body but they can never satisfy the soul or the spirit of man which cries out to God its Father for the joy and happiness and the eternal fulfillment that only God can give and for which He created it to enjoy.

But it's just the opposite with us!--We consider you're not very religious or spiritual unless you're victorious and joyful, smiling and really happy.

ML#1393:3 I DON'T SEE HOW ANY PEOPLE ARE EVER GOING TO BE HAPPY WITHOUT THE LORD--TRULY HAPPY. Even if you supply all their physical needs, they have to have something to satisfy their spiritual needs and the hunger for happiness. Thank God that's what we have, as well as satisfaction for all our physical needs, all of which it takes to make you happy.

ML#1393:5 WE EVEN ENJOY OUR WORK! It's work and it's hard work and it keeps us busy, but we enjoy it!--And I hope you enjoy your work! With the love of the Lord and having the right kind of work, work you know is doing some good and helping people and making others happy, it helps you to be happy and to enjoy it.

Jesus to know is Heaven below, Heaven is here, is here and now!” So those of us who know and love the Lord and have His Spirit and live together in our Heavenly Homes with our Heavenly loved ones, all these Heavenly bodies about us, and have Heaven in our hearts, we have Heaven on Earth already! Praise God! Hallelujah! TYJ! Beautiful! Wonderful! Sometimes I wonder how Heaven could be any better! I'm having such a good time already and I'm so happy here and now with you and Jesus in our Heavenly Homes and our Heavenly labors, win ning souls for Jesus, making other people happy and bringing Heaven to them! TYJ! PTL! Hallelujah!

ML#1529:27 SO WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN ALREADY--HEAVENLY HEARTS, HEAVENLY HOMES, HEAVENLY LOVED ONES, HEAVENLY WORK TO DO FOR THE LORD, BRINGING THE HEAVEN OF HIS LOVE TO OTHERS! So we're already having a Heaven of a wonderful time even right here on Earth! But if this is only a sample of what's coming, wow!--Think of what the real full Heaven is going to be like! God's Word tells us that thi s is just the earnest of our salvation (Eph.1:14), this is just a little sample, just a little bit of Heaven here to have His Love and His Spirit now and each other and His wonderful work.--Just a sample! So if this is a sample, think of what the whole thing is going to be like! Hallelujah!

That little song has got it all summed up beautifully: “The way to be happy is to make others happy and we'll ha ve a little Heaven right here!” If you'll try to make others happy, it'll make you happy, and you'll have a little Heaven right here on Earth!--Contrary to the Preamble of...is it the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence?--That Americans are guaranteed the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.--And they've been chasing it ever since and never found it! Because you don't find happiness by chasing it, happiness finds you by your bringing happiness to others. That's God's system , that's God's rule, that's God's way, that's God's Law of Love. God'll make you happy if you make others happy. It's that simple!

After all, how could anybody else be truly happy when they're not saved and they don't know what's going to happen to them when they die?--Or ma ybe they do, and if they're not saved, it's not too good.

ML#2397:24 Yes, to just sing songs of happiness, what good is that? That makes them feel worse if they see there is happiness but we don't tell them how to get it!

And if You'll just have a little fellowship with me and make friends with me, I'll give all of these kingdoms of the world to You! That will make You even happier than You are now. Yes, they had everything else and they thought they were wonderfully happy, and they were. But when they saw the one thing they couldn't have, they started to murmur and they started to be discontented. That evil seed was implanted in their hearts. It didn't have to continue to affect them, but they let it. They let that murmur grow, about “not having everything we want!” and they let the Enemy continue talk ing to them and they continued listening to him. You're so bored now!”

ML#2526:58 The power of suggestion! You can be perfectly happy, but somebody's negative idea implanted into your mind can make you start wondering, “Well, maybe I'm not happy after all!”

ML#2526:59 Then you get discontented and you sta rt murmuring and complaining, “Well, what is wrong? I guess I'm really not as happy as I could be. There must be something missing!”

ML#2542:33 Even if He doesn't protect and keep you from having to suffer, He will be with you in it and keep you through it, just like He did with the early martyrs. The Lord will give you the grace. They sang songs of praise while the fires burned!--In other words, they didn't even feel the flames! PTL!

ML#2549:85 Yes, those were happy days then, but I'll tell you, they're not so happy now! But we can still be happy in the Lord! TTL! Even living underground and selah and persecuted and all the rest, we can still be happy in Jesus!

ML#2572:56 Look, we're done early, so we c an now go to bed and be so happy, we don't even have to discuss all these worrisome, detailed questions. The Lord's answered them all so simply. Amen? ML#2630:31 Last night she told me, “I'm just not very happy, I'm not making much progress.” I replied, “Well, Honey, you're a soldier in a battle.--And I don't think you'd describe most soldiers on the battlefield as 'happy ', at least not the way we usually think about happiness--carefree, smiling and feeling on top of the World.” I believe her definition of how she ought to be feeling is not too realistic, because she's in the middle of a big fight.

ML#2714:27 I'm not saying that we can't be happy; of course, we're happy! But our happiness and contentment is something that is consistent and steady--not like our emotions, which are up one minute and down the next. We're happy because we know the Lord and have Him in our h earts! “Happy is that people that is in such a case, yea, happy is that people whose God is the Lord!”--Psa.144:15. Our happiness isn't something that's dependent on feelings or thrills or emotional highs of some kind. We're happy because we have Jesus, the most precious Treasure in the whole world!--True happiness is the peace, contentment and joy that remains in spite of all our trials and tribulations and the heaviness we often feel from the burdens of this life.

ML#2714:28 For us, God's children , happiness is a permanent state of being, not merely a feeling. We may feel gloomy and our hearts may be heavy sometimes, but nevertheless, at the same time, we remain happy with the happiness that Jesus gives us through Faith, Salvation and all the wonderful blessings that come with it. Thanks to Jesus, we know that all of our sins are forgiven and that we're saved from Hell and bound for an eternity of happiness in Heaven! So whatever our temporal feelings happen to be, our happiness abides! Happy fe elings fluctuate, they come and go, but our state of happiness remains. However, for the unsaved, for the worldlings, because they don't know Jesus, they can't be truly and permanently happy, although they do sometimes experience a kind of temporary happiness in the form of positive emotions or happy feelings.

ML#2714:30 The Lord is so good to us, He not only gives us this greatest of all happiness, the permanent state of happiness that comes from knowing Him and being filled with His Spirit, but He also frequently gives us all the wonderful feelings of happiness as well--thrills, excitement, pleasure, ecstasy, delight--feelings that we often reflect in our physical behavior when we smile or laugh or clap our hands or dance or jump up and down for joy, etc.

ML#2714:31 Even though such feelings of excitement and thrill and ecstasy are not a necessity nor something that we hinge our faith upon, nevertheless, because the Lord loves us and wants us to enjoy life, He gives us these feelings as a plea surable experience, as sort of a bonus. These feelings and sensations of happiness are often the exception rather than the rule, but we do receive them from the Lord on occasion, and when we do, we count them as a blessing! But we must not expect them all the time or demand and insist that He give them to us, or think that we have to have them as some kind of a sign by which we gauge whether or not we're close to the Lord.

ML#2714:32 So we, God's children, actually have the best of all worlds, the b est of everything!--We have true, genuine, permanent happiness that comes from knowing Jesus. We're also frequently blessed with thrills and excitement of the Spirit that result in tangible feelings, sensations and spiritual “highs.”--Not to mention the feelings of peace, contentment and spiritual rest that we usually have just from knowing that we're the Lord's and under His loving care. Then on top of all this, the Lord also lets us experience all of the pleasurable sights, sounds, feelings, scents and tastes that He has created as a part of His natural Creation.--The very things that most of the poor unsaved people of the world turn to and seek after as their sole means of obtaining happiness of any kind!

ML#2714:33 In fact, we derive even more happiness and pleasure and enjoyment from the natural world than the unsaved, worldly folks do! Although they obtain a certain measure of pleasure, peace and temporal happiness from the wonderful natural Creation, “because they know not God, neither glorify Him as God, and neither are they even thankful” to Him for all the wonders He has made, they are therefore sadly “vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts are darkened.”--Rom.1:21. But when we, God's saved children, enjoy His Creation, we not only marvel at the works of His hands, but we see Him in His handiwork! And we understand Him better by the things He has made, and we truly glorify and praise Him and are very thankful, having our hearts enlightened!

PTR#35:6 YOU'RE DEMANDING: “FOR ME TO BE HAPPY and TO BE FULL OF THE LORD and FULL OF JOY, I HAVE TO HAVE THIS!” But then what happens when the Lord says, “I don't want you to have that any more!” Then you're not happy and you fight back with, “Well, I know better than You, Lord!” You're yielded to the problem, the jealousy, and because of that you can't be happy unless everything's going your way.

PTR#35:17 THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY KNOW TRUE HAPPINESS and THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY HAVE PEACE OF MIND IS IN FINDING THE LORD'S WILL and NOT FIGHTI NG AGAINST IT! If you're not willing to yield, you could have a physical and spiritual breakdown!
