On 9 August 1945, at 11:02 in the morning, the American plane "Bock's Car" dropped an atomic bomb, powered by plutonium and nicknamed "Fat Man," which exploded half a kilometer above the Urakami district of Nagasaki. It was the second atomic bomb to be deployed in Japan, after an uranium bomb had devastated Hiroshima three days earlier. As John Whittier Treat notes, apart from being "a redundant act," the Nagasaki bomb was unique in that ground zero was the largest Roman Catholic cathedral in Japan and Nagasaki itself had the largest Catholic and Christian population in Japan.(1) In an instant, 73,000 people died, over 8000 of whom were Christian. Less than one percent of the Japanese population was Christian, yet they comprised over ten percent of the bomb's victims. (Taken from http://www.rtjournal.org/vol_1/no_1/wetmore.html )
"...Hiroshima was historically the center of Christian missions to Japan and had the largest number of Christians in Japan -- Christians who had steadfastly endured persecution and suppresion." -- Taken from http://books.google.co.jp/books?id=kYxCiUX6itEC&pg=PA45&lpg=PA45&dq=percentage+of+Christians+in+Hiroshima&source=web&ots=3cHwG2s0y7&sig=E1d_bRv7q4UG5DtLXaZRj5mlh2Y&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=7&ct=result
Truman said he wanted to scare the Russians, and that's why he wanted to demonstrate the atomic bomb in Japan. Can you imagine doing such a terrible thing to an innocent population of men and women and children, many of whom were Christians! You know that must've been a machination of the Devil to wipe out the population, especially the Christian population. I think that was the greatest war crime in history, the bombing of those two Christian cities of Japan! (Mama: Think of the persecution they'd gone through just to be Christians, and then the Devil tried to wipe them all out in one fell swoop!) Well, there must've been quite a harvest in Heaven that day! But the World is without excuse!
Truman was the one who did it, and he's probably burning in Hell now and having to watch the suffering he caused all those people! How can the Americans still think of this as something to rejoice over and laugh and be happy about, that they had finally punished Japan? They talk about Hiroshima and Nagasaki like it was a great feat, a great victory!
To think that we should live in an age of such tragedy and that any human should have been responsible for that! The U.S. President gave the word, but it took a lot of German-[anti-Christ] scientists to develop the bomb and promote it, and the airmen who were willing to take it, and the people who were fighting that war--how horrible! They kept it such a secret, people had never even heard that there was such a thing as the atomic bomb until it was dropped, and then the government and the military bragged about it. And many Americans who were so furious at Japan at that time because they had lost boys in the war etc., of course they were happy about it!
Just think, Harry Truman dropped that bomb on hundreds of thousands of poor innocent old men and women and children! Nearly all the soldiers were away at war, so they knew they were going to kill a large number of civilians. They wanted to! They wanted to demonstrate their bomb, and then they wanted to study the effects of it. Later, when the U.S. occupied Japan, they'd call the school kids out of school, not for treatment, but just to study the effects of radiation exposure! Think of it! Even kids who were very sick, they didn't give them anything but a piece of candy. Talk about horror stories!--That bombing is an absolutely, totally cruel, heartless, vicious, horrendous horror story!
My name is James Arendt. I was raised in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, served in the USAF from 1970 to 1974, and became a full-time missionary for Christ living 40 years in Japan, 3.5 years in Russia, and a few months in other countries such as Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, South Korea, Taiwan and mainland China where I also served the King of Kings, Jesus, as an Ambassador for His Kingdom. My full bio.
On September 24, 2023, I had an accident and broke the bone of the tip of my left elbow. A boy ran in front of my motorbike less than 2 meters from me as I was leaving home. I stopped suddenly and my front tire slid on the sandy concrete road which caused me to fall. I did not hit the boy. On October 18th I had surgery done on my elbow. The doctor put in titanium rods to hold my bones together. The entire procedure including an entire week in the hospital was roughly $4000 USD. This was done in the Philippines where my wife and I have been living since June this year.
