Bible Topics: Brokenness

Definition: In the positive spiritual sense, brokenness is the condition of being completely subdued and humbled before the Lord, and as a result, completely yielded to and dependent upon Him also.

1. The Lord loves the broken in heart, who draw close to Him in their brokenness.

2. If we yield to the breaking process it will be easier on us than if God has to force His breaking on us.

3. God breaks us in order to re-make us into what He wants us to be.

4. The Lord draws near to comfort us in our breakings.

5. Through the breaking/remaking process, God promises to give us an new heart.

6. Sorrow often accompanies breakings, but godly sorrow is good for us.

7. God warns us against being hard and unbroken.

I was raised in the Hegewisch neighborhood on the southeast side of Chicago, Illinois, served in the USAF from 1970 to 1974, and became a full-time missionary for Christ living 40 years in Japan, 3.5 years in Russia, and a few months in other countries such as Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, South Korea, Taiwan and mainland China where I also served the King of Kings, Jesus, as an Ambassador for His Kingdom.

If you find this website useful, please consider sending me a gift through PayPal toward the support of my ministry sharing the truth of God's Word. The Church, the Elect of God, the Ecclesia, the born again believers of Christ Jesus, have been flooded with false doctrines from Jesuits and the Pope. I hope to correct them with this website. Your support will encourage me to keep this website updated, and the Lord Jesus will bless you richly!
