My name is James Arendt. I was raised in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, served in the USAF from 1970 to 1974, and became a full-time missionary for Christ living 40 years in Japan, 3.5 years in Russia, and a few months in other countries such as Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, South Korea, Taiwan and mainland China where I also served the King of Kings, Jesus, as an Ambassador for His Kingdom. My only work is maintaining my websites, Deep Truths, and James Japan which costs me $300 per year now. And Tess is ministering to the local people giving them regular Bible Studies in three groups, children, teenagers and adults.

Toward the end of this month of July 2024 I have an extra expense of visa renewal payment. My wife and I will go to the Calbayog city, 80 kilometers or 50 miles from home to obtain another 6 more months in the Philippines. The cost is approximately $165 dollars.

"You can have your earthly treasure, your silver and your gold. But the Spirit, it's the Spirit, that can never yet be sold!" Only Jesus can really satisfy your heart! He is the Answer! But as long as you're still looking for things in the World to make you happy and satisfied, you won't find the Truth! (See 1John 2:15-17.)

God's Word warns us to "be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches". (1Tim.6:17) Don't be like the rich man in the Bible who wanted to build bigger barns to increase his goods for himself, and not to share with others. (Luke 12:15-21) His own soul became barney and materialistic and he was deluded by "the deceitfulness of riches". (Mat.13:22)--If God blesses you with money, don't trust in money and don't let it fill your head, and become highminded. "But trust in the living God, Who giveth us richly all things to enjoy!" (1Tim.6:17)

May we desire, love and hunger for Thy Spirit, Love and simplicity, Lord--the realities, Lord, not the "deceitfulness of riches", but the realities of Love and the Truth! "For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal!" (2Cor.4:18)

Site Mission Statement

Deep Truths is a collection of the basic teachings of David Brandt Berg who was my pastor for 20 years and who led me on a path of service for Jesus Christ and showed me how to love God and others. I have been a missionary for Christ in Japan from 1974 to the present with the exception of 4 years in other countries, specifically Russia, China, Estonia and Poland. My hope is this website will inspire and feed God's sheep.

You probably won't hear some of these teachings in any public school or church! It is my earnest desire that by reading these articles you will have a major paradigm shift in your life to perceive reality the way your Creator wants you to perceive it!
